Donald Underwood Thompson Band will play the Turnage Theater

This production is a lively and entertaining musical production featuring many of the great songs from the Blues and Rhythm ‘n’ Blues genres, as well as some favorite numbers from the birth of Rock ‘n’ Roll.

Make no mistake, though; this is more than just a concert. Along with the music the audience will be treated to the stories behind the songs and glimpses into the lives of the songwriters who wrote them, as well as performances by the fabulous Boppin’ the Blues Dancers, a professional team of four super-talented young dancers. This quartet will heat up the stage with their energetic versions of the Bop, the Lindy, the Jitterbug and some Swing, performing smokin’ footwork, spins, twirls, over-the-back lifts and between-the-legs slides as the dynamic Donald Underwood Thompson Band churns out its rousing Vintage Rhythm ‘n’ Blues numbers.

As if this weren’t enticement enough, comedian Rodney Kemp will also perform his Southern comedy in the vein of James Gregory, Jeff Foxworthy, Jerry Clower and Lewis Grizzard. As you can see, it’s sure to be an amazing show with something for everyone. Boppin’ the Blues Revue starts at 8pm on July 24th, but reserve your seats now by calling (252) 975-1191, visiting turnagetheater.com, or stopping by the box office at 150 West Main St, Washington between 10-4 Monday through Friday. Tickets to this event are $20 all ages downstairs and mezzanine and $10 in the balcony.
